Color: All colors from black to pure white. A variety of markings on the head is common, including many striking patterns not found in other breeds.

Life span: 12 to 15 years.

General characteristics/temperament: The Siberian Husky is friendly, gentle, alert, and outgoing. They exhibit some wolf-like behaviors, such as howling rather than barking. Bred to be a sled dog, they are capable of tremendous endurance and possess a strong willingness to work. They love to run, and must have a safely fenced area to do so on a daily basis. They have a strong hunting drive, and are likely to chase small animals, including cats. They are agreeable and friendly with strangers, thus are unsuitable as watchdogs. However, they will defend themselves if attacked.
